Karin Fahlman Chesnutt

Clinical Mental Health Graduate Intern

Supervisor: DeLyn Griffin, MA, LMFT (License #T3119)

Currently accepting new clients. I work with children, teens, individuals, couples and families.

In life, we all encounter broken places — moments of disruption, pain, or transition that can leave us feeling unsteady or overwhelmed. Each challenge requires its own path toward healing. I believe that while we may navigate some of these experiences on our own, we often find deeper growth and clarity when we reach beyond ourselves for support.

As a clinical counselor, I offer a safe, empathetic space where children, individuals, and families are heard, valued, and encouraged. I walk alongside clients, as a consistent and compassionate ally, as they grow through life’s difficulties and move toward strength and renewal. My work is grounded in helping people rediscover hope, build resilience, and create meaningful forward momentum from even the most difficult places.

My areas of focus include depression/anxiety, grief, neurodivergent challenges, and lifespan transitions (from childhood through older adulthood). Depending on the needs of the client, I draw from restoration therapy, the Gottman method, the Townsend model, and acceptance and commitment therapy.

I come to counseling with significant life experience, having raised three children (now grown), taught piano for decades, and spent years caring for my aging parents.

I enjoy spending time with my husband, family, and friends, walking my golden retriever, playing with my grandchildren, directing a senior residence choir, teaching and playing the piano, and playing in a marimba band.
